JBL has a wireless speaker with Wi-Fi that you can use at home and on the go

Wireless speakers usually maintain contact with other devices using a Bluetooth module. However, the latest JBL Charge model has an advantage over them. It can also communicate with the sound source via Wi-Fi.

Home/mobile/Bluetooth/Wi-Fi speaker

Normally, our wireless speakers rely on Bluetooth connectivity. And it’s perfectly logical, considering that most applications of portable sound emitters are in scenarios where we are away from home. But there are also exceptions to this rule.

From time to time we also use Bluetooth speakers in closed rooms. If we mean our home, the option of connecting to a local Wi-Fi network would probably be useful, which would relieve the Bluetooth module in devices a bit. And this is the goal of the new JBL Charge 5 Wi-Fi.

Thanks to this, while listening to music from the phone, you can make a call or scroll through your social media – and the playback will not be interrupted by “taking over” the Bluetooth module by another function. Such smooth audio handling is a great thing. Music streaming can be done via AirPlay, Alexa Multi-Room Music, Chromecast built-in and Spotify Connect.

The housing made of eco-friendly recycled material is waterproof and dustproof according to IP67 class . So the equipment will cope not only at home, but also at a picnic by the lake.

The new JBL can run continuously for 20 hours. It also has a built-in powerbank, so in the event of power shortages on the side of our smartphone, we can freely charge our pocket mobile device using the appropriate cable.

The speaker can be managed using the JBL One application, in which we can easily configure the equipment, as well as browse integrated music services.
